Mini Abdominoplasty (without navel transfer)
Contraindications to miniabdominoplasty are diabetes mellitus, obesity, heart failure. Before surgery, a detailed examination of the body is mandatory.
As already mentioned, miniabdominoplasty is very good and effective when there is no need for a rather traumatic operation of classical abdominoplasty, but there is some muscle weakness, stretching, excess skin and adipose tissue of the abdomen (for example, after childbirth, weight loss) and it is not possible to restore the desired type of abdomen with the help of diets and sports. Whether a mini abdominoplasty is suitable for you can be found out at the initial appointment, when the surgeon will determine the method of correction. At the same time, the wishes of the patient are certainly taken into account.
Before surgery, the patient must be examined (a standard list of tests approved by WHO). Diagnosis helps not only to identify possible contraindications, but also to get a complete picture of health, which means to take into account all the nuances before the operation. According to the results of the tests, it is necessary to consult a therapist. If you are taking any medications, you should inform your doctor about it, since two weeks before the manipulation it is advisable to stop taking medications and drugs, especially heparin, aspirin, trental, etc., which contribute to blood thinning. In addition, it is also necessary to refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol.
The operation is performed using general or local anesthesia. Its duration is 1-1.5 hours, depending on the nature and volume of the intervention.
The incision is made along the bikini line, then, as with classical abdominoplasty, mobilization (detachment) of skin and adipose tissue is carried out, but the detachment zone is much smaller. Then the surgeon corrects the aponeurosis (muscles of the abdominal wall), forms the waist, excises excess tissue. The last stage is a closing cosmetic seam made of self-absorbable materials. At the end of the operation, the patient is set drainage to prevent possible complications.
The operation of miniabdominoplasty (small abdominoplasty) is easily combined with any other type of intervention (can be performed simultaneously with other plastic surgeries), and is also much easier to tolerate by patients than, say, traditional abdominoplasty.
The method of this operation is also popular because of its less traumatic and shorter rehabilitation period. Complications are extremely rare, scars are insignificant and neat, easily hidden with the help of underwear. Within a month after the operation, the patient wears compression underwear (such as a support bandage). At this time, you should also refrain from physical exertion, visiting a bath, sauna, solarium. It is recommended to take a vacation.
