Repeated rhinoplasty is understood as plastic surgery, the main task of which is to correct all existing defects in the anatomical shape of the nose that appeared as a result of an unsuccessful primary intervention or as a result of a violation of the recommendations by the patient himself.
Most secondary operations are carried out with open access and may require the collection of their own donor material to achieve the desired result. Although minor in volume corrective nose plastics can be performed with closed access.
Depending on the clinical case, the plastic surgeon may use the patient's own tissues. Most often, the cartilage material of the septum of the nose, ear cartilage (approximately since otoplasty is performed)and temporal fascia are used. After taking the donor material, patients do not have any visible defects at the site of the collection.
Most plastic surgeries require general anesthesia, but minimal corrections can be performed under local anesthesia. Also, local anesthesia can be used if there are contraindications in the patient to general anesthesia.
Most often, secondary rhinoplasty is combined with correction of nasal breathing. Although it is possible to combine with other aesthetic operations: breast augmentation or breast lift, liposuction, abdominoplasty, etc.
